Harley Greene

Marital status: Widowed
Occupation: retired pharmacist
Briefly, describe a memorable event that has happened since graduation: There have been many.

I worked at Greene\'s Professional

Pharmacy for 25 years before I sold it in 2001.

In 1996 Benson Schecter (class 0f 1971) and I opened a nightclub called Tabu\' It later became the site of Nationwide Arena. After Benson passed away in 1997, I bought The Garage Nightclub, in downtown

Columbus. Both Tabu\' and The Garage, were large Disco Dance Clubs.

In 2001 I moved to Fort Lauderdale Florida. I next went on to own Aqua Night club in Key West, with a partner, for a very short time. The nightclub business is not for the faint of heart. I am now happily retired.

Thru the years, I\'ve been involved in different charitable organizations. When the HIV/Aids crisis began I was one of the first pharmacies in Ohio to carry the life saving drugs needed to help combat the disease. I lost many, many friends during those bewildering years. I helped found

the Columbus Aids

Task force and have remained an active contributor for more than 30 years, to The Human Rights Campaign and various other HIV related charities.

I lost my partner Richard of 8 years, to pancreatic cancer in 2019. Our relationship was the best thing that ever happened to me.
If you could have a "re-do" on your personal or professional life, tell us concisely what you wish you had done: My life has been pretty interesting. I was the cantorial soloist at Agudas Achim Synagogue in Bexley for 50 years. I have been the soloist here in Fort Lauderdale for the past 10 years at Congregation Etz Chaim. There is a Facebook page for the congregation, where I can sometimes be seen leading Friday night services.

I also sang at 3 different Human Right Campaign dinners. I guess if I had to re-do anything, it would be to have been singing or doing art projects more often.
List a thing or two you'd be willing to talk more about with a classmate at the Reunion: I\'d be willing to talk about anything at all!
Name a place you dream about: I traveled throughout Asia, and Europe, years ago. I would like to start traveling again. I have a very close friend in Cadiz Spain I plan on visiting for an extended time next summer.

The place I dream about returning to is Mykonos Greece.
Name something on your bucket list: Traveling is big on my bucket list.

Spending more time with family and friends
