Elizabeth (Betsy) Salt (Salt)

Marital status: Single
Occupation: Retired University Librarian
Comment: After graduation from Bexley High School in 1970, I went to Western College in Oxford, Ohio, where I graduated with a major in liberal arts in 1974. I then got a master's degree in anthropology from The Ohio State University in 1975 and received a second master's degree in library science from Indiana University in 1979. My first job as an academic librarian was at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado (50 miles north of Denver). That job was a two year non-tenture track position, so when it was finished I had to find another job. I came back to Ohio and became the Cataloging and Metadata Librarian at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio, where I worked for 31 years until my retirement. Since retirement, I've been involved in various volunteer activities around Westerville, and until recently, I've continued to travel the world.
Briefly, describe a memorable event that has happened since graduation: My niece, Megan Salt, was married to Mike Ando in March 2016 in California. That was a big event for our family. They now have a daughter, Cora, born in 2018. They still live in California, so I don't get to see them much.
List a thing or two you'd be willing to talk more about with a classmate at the Reunion: I'd like to catch up on life since high school and also talk about my travels ro whoever is interested. I've been to 84 countries and all 50 states. Travel is my passion! I've had to slow down on traveling over the past couple of years due to the Covid-19 pandemic and also due to recent knee replacement surgery. My last overseas travel adventure was a small ship cruise in the Caribbean in November 2019.
Name a place you dream about: I've been to New Zealand three times, but I would love to go back there again. The scenery is beautiful, and the people are friendly.
Name something on your bucket list: I would like to visit Iguazu Falls on the Brazil-Argentina border.
