1951-05-27 2025-07-04Steven D. Will, of Tabernacle, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025. He was 74 years old.
Son of the late Joseph and Beverly Will, Steve was born on May 27, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio, and was raised in Bexley, Ohio. Steve came to New Jersey, after relocating to New Mexico and teaching middle school. He worked summers at YMCA Camp Ockanickon in Medford starting in 1986. It was at this camp where Steve met the love of his life, Barbara Chinnici. After a few years of having a long-distance relationship, Steve eventually moved to New Jersey full time in 1989 and he and Barbara were married December 28, 1991. The couple went on to have three wonderful children, Mollie, Timothy, and Samantha. Steve worked as a teacher for the Mount Holly Board of Education before retiring in 2016 and taught at John Paul II in Willingboro until June of 2020. As his children grew, Steve coached Little League baseball as well as swimming. Once they were done competitive sports Steve continued coaching and teaching swimming. He coached both the Jersey Storm and BCC Aqua Barons swim teams. Steve was an outdoors man who loved camping, canoeing, as well as hiking. Steve was also an avid bicyclist who could ride 60 miles on most trips. He biked through Nova Scotia and has hiked most of the Appalachian Trail. He biked until he physically could no longer do so but was always walking down the road or the Batona Trail. He was highly competitive but also took everything in stride. He taught his family to not stress the small stuff. Steve will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife of over 33 years Barbara, his children Mollie (Dennis), Timothy (Taylor), and Samantha, and his grandson Mason, and future grandson, as well as his sister Brenda.
